Sutter Creek Real Estate

Commonly referred to as "Sausalito of the foothills," Sutter Creek now has over 2,500 residents and is easily one of Amador County's fastest growing cities. Its location right in the heart of the Sierra Foothills puts home owners directly in the middle of California wine country, which of course has plenty of upside all on its own. But along with a premier location on the map, many also consider Sutter Creek to be Amador's most walkable city, with the downtown jammed with restaurants, cafes, shops, and countless bed and breakfasts establishments.

Sutter Creek is also where you'll find many of Amador County's most expensive homes on the market, with some even exceeding $2 or $3 million. As you get closer to town, houses tend to lean on the historic side and feature timeless architectural designs. Further outside of town and set amongst the countryside, however, are plenty of larger, more recently built properties, which not only offer more living space on the inside, but also plenty of open farmland surrounding the home as well. And because you'll only be about 45 minutes from the busy city streets of Sacramento, plenty of amenities and attractions outside of Sutter Creek are also only a short drive away once moving to this downright scenic part of Northern California.

Living in Sutter Creek CA

Like many Gold Country cities and towns, Sutter Creek has a rich history that dates all the way back to the 1840s. In fact, the Sutter Creek area was actually one of the very first places in which gold was discovered during the famous California Gold Rush, quickly making it the go-to destination for anybody and everybody wanting to get rich fast. A lot has changed since then, both in the Sutter Creek community and all throughout Amador County, but even today, people still flock to the area each and every year, but mainly to eat, drink, and shop rather than to hunt for fame and fortune.
